Does Any Charity Take Bedding?
Getting rid of old bedding can be a hassle, but it doesn't have to be. There are many charities that will gladly accept donations of used bedding, so you can feel good about giving your old linens a new home.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when donating bedding to charity:
- Make sure the bedding is clean and in good condition. Charities will not accept bedding that is stained, torn, or otherwise damaged.
- Include all of the pieces to the bedding set. This includes the sheets, pillowcases, and any other pieces that came with the set.
- If you are donating a comforter or duvet, be sure to include the insert.
Many charities do indeed accept donations of bedding, including the following:
- Goodwill
- The Salvation Army
- Habitat for Humanity
- Local homeless shelters
You can also check with your local animal shelter to see if they accept donations of bedding for the animals. Depending on the organization, some may even be able to pick up your donation from your home.
If you are unable to find a charity that will accept your bedding donation, there are other ways to get rid of it. You can try selling it online or at a consignment shop, or you can simply throw it away. However, if you are able to donate your bedding, it is a great way to help those in need.
